As our fearless band of adventurers continued their trek through this dungeon, they at last came upon a room that wasn't devoid of any signs of life greater than your average arachnid. Quietly, the party entered into a full-blown blacksmith's shop. Weapons and armor lined the walls, each of them painted black and sporting either a skull or the Black Hand of Bane. This shop was so complete, it even came with a blacksmith diligently pounding away on his forge! The blacksmith was about five feet tall with bluish tinted skin and stringy tan hair.
The party attempted to sneak around and get the half-derro to surrender, but, as soon as he realized they were there, he attacked maliciously with his forge hammer! Everyone did what they could to surround and jump this guy, but he proved a tough bastard! Whipping that hammer around as if it were a twig, the blacksmith sent the Paladin tumbling, and gave Ike a nasty stomachache. The party was finally able to overcome the half-derro, but not before he dealt a death blow to Jess, caving her face in!
While holding a moment of silence for their lost companion, the adventurers couldn't help but contemplate if this really was a bad idea after all. As Sir Drakheim said some final prayers over the young rogue's body, the remainder of the band searched through the equipment housed in the shop. Truly observant, Zarp even discovered a secret door hidden along the armory wall! Cautiously following the narrow tunnel beyond, the party discovered the derro blacksmith's bedchambers. Aside from ill-fitting cloths and a moth-eaten bed, the chambers held little more than a chest Zarp discovered under the bed. Sir Drakheim smashed the lock, and they found a nice cache of coins just begging to be emptied. And empty it they did, only for Zarp to discover that it also held a secret bottom! Observant little bugger, ain't he?!
The party took the two potions they found in the secret section and returned to the alchemist's lab they had discovered earlier. The Old Man, Max, and Zarp put their heads together to identify the potions as full healing and resurrection! Perhaps Jess could be saved after all! The adventurers returned to the blacksmith shop and watched on as the Paladin slowly poured the potions into Jess' mouth... and she began gasping for air once more!
Thinking that they had had enough excitement for one night, the party secluded themselves in the relative security of the hidden bedchambers... hoping it would be as secret to the other denizens of this dungeon as it was to them!
